This festive season holds deep meaning for Jovilisi Tuisinu and his family, marked by both joy and quiet sacrifice.
After years of hard work and perseverance, Jovilisi recently achieved two major milestones for his family—securing a piece of land to build a home and buying a new car.
“These blessings have brought renewed hope and made this festive season different from those in the past,” he said
The new car has changed the daily routine for Jovilisi’s family, allowing them to travel more freely, visit relatives, attend church services and explore places they were once unable to visit.
Each journey reflects progress and the rewards of patience, turning this festive season into a new and memorable experience and bringing a whole lot of gratitude.
Their newly acquired land represents hope for a future built on hard work and determination—and years of planning.
This is where memories will be made, and where future Christmases will be shared as a family.
However, behind these blessings lies a heartfelt sacrifice.
The native from Nawaikama. Gau will send his family to Navua for Christmas while he will be alone at work on Christmas Day.
His sacrifice reflects the quiet strength and love of a father who continues to put his family first, especially during the most meaningful time of the year.
Jovilisi cautions parents and guardians to be vigilant and to supervise their children during this festive season.
“If you’re taking your children somewhere, always keep an eye on them especially with what’s going on in Fiji.
“Cause you don’t know what they can be exposed to like drugs, peer pressure, alcohol so we should monitor them 24/7.”
Jovilisi advises the public to be responsible this festive season and “always remember to put God first and everything will fall into place.”
This festive season is not only a celebration of new beginnings for Jovilisi’s family, but a powerful reminder that the true meaning of the season lies in the sacrifice, resilience, unity, love and the unbreakable bond of family.
Meanwhile the Land Transport Authority of Fiji (LTA) urges members of the public to be responsible road users this festive season and to restrain from drinking and driving.
Your life, and the life of the road users are in your hands every time you get behind the wheel.
Speeding, fatigue, improper overtaking, pedestrian negligence and careless driving behaviours continue to top the list of causes of road fatalities this year.
“Choose to be responsible road users by simply adhering to speed limits, maintaining proper steering control and complying with traffic regulations and road safety measures.
“Make this festive season a celebration of life, not death.”
