THE ANZ Banking Group has updated its internet and mobile banking services in its bid to improve the speed and efficiency of transferring funds from ANZ bank accounts to Vodafone’s M-PAiSA digital wallets.
From January 15 next year, all transfers to the M-PAiSA digital platform via ANZ internet banking and the ANZ Pacific app must be completed using the Transfers tab.
ANZ Fiji country head Rabih Yazbek said the bill payment option, which previously supported those transfers, would be decommissioned and would no longer be available for M-PaiSA transactions.
He said the change leveraged the capabilities of the national payment system, and would ensure a faster and more streamlined experience for customers.
“This simplified process means M-PAiSA transfers will be processed faster, getting funds into our customers’ wallets.
“We encourage customers who regularly transfer to M-PAiSA to familiarise themselves with the steps under the Transfer tab before the January 15 changeover,” Mr Yazbek said in a statement.
“Digital banking remains a cornerstone of ANZ’s financial accessibility strategy in the Pacific.
“The ANZ Pacific app and internet banking platform help bridge geographic and infrastructure gaps, especially in remote areas, and we continually review our services to ensure they meet customer needs.”
To transfer funds, customers are advised to log in to their internet banking or ANZ Pacific app, select the Transfers tab, choose local banks and enter the recipient’s mobile number or select the saved recipient from your list, enter the amount and confirm to complete the payment.
