A STRONG 95 per cent pass rate was recorded in this year’s Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination, marking a significant improvement in national performance.

Education Minister Aseri Radrodro said 8646 students took the examination this year, with results showing a marked rise over 2024, when 8604 candidates recorded an 89 per cent pass rate.

He said the improved outcome reflected sustained efforts across the education sector to strengthen teaching, learning and student support at senior secondary level.

Mr Radrodro described the results as an important turning point in their academic journey and a foundation for future education and career pathways.

He also acknowledged improvements among 11 government and non-government secondary schools.

According to the minister, 50 secondary schools achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, a substantial increase from the 10 schools that recorded the same achievement last year.

Mr Radrodro said the collective contribution of educators and families remained crucial in nurturing students and helping them reach their full potential.
